The fast growth of renewable energy systems brings fundamental changes to current power networks while it creates new challenges for operational management and system reliability and protection against operational failures. The review presents a detailed assessment of all major technical and infrastructural and economic and climatic and digital obstacles which organizations face when they need to boost their renewable energy usage for maintaining steady power availability. The world has experienced fast growth of renewable energy systems which will make up 92.5% of all new power capacity in 2024 while developing new strategies for power grid management through reliable system integration. The review brings together all existing evidence about renewable energy system fluctuations and power transmission network limitations and aging electrical infrastructure and financial instability and supply chain problems and weather-related risks and digital security vulnerabilities and the growing importance of energy storage systems and flexible power grid operations. The success of system integration depends on the unified progress of power transmission systems with energy storage solutions and demand response programs and prediction systems and adaptable power resources and modern grid technology and robust infrastructure systems. The growing adoption of solar and wind power systems brings new challenges because their unpredictable power output requires advanced voltage and frequency control and power transmission management and system adaptation and renewable energy shutdown operations. The aging infrastructure now faces an increasing number of technical problems which also affect how people view investment risks and how supply chains work and how weather patterns affect operations and cybersecurity threats. The study shows that renewable power access does not determine system reliability because power grid reliability depends on its ability to flexibly connect and operate within its complete power network.
